October Fall Happenings!

We are having a Silent Auction!
On Wednesday, October 12 at the Oktoberfest celebration this year we will have a silent auction. We are asking for donations such as gift baskets, babysitting, weekend cottage, fishing trip, golf game, house cleaning, and anything else you can think of that someone else would want to bid on. If you know of businesses who could contribute something that would be terrific. Proceeds will benefit Trinity Hall Kitchen, Camp Agape, and our Troop 12 Cub Scouts. For details on the Silent Auction, contact Bess Line.

More details on Oktoberfest:
Wednesday, Oct 12 beginning at 5:45 pm will be our Oktoberfest celebration. If you have a dish you think would go well, contact Karen Hassett asap as we are planning the  menu.  The "Rusty Pipes" band from Croasdaile will be on hand from 5:45 to about 6:25 to play great music for us. We will start the evening with pre-dinner snacks and the meal will begin about 6:15 pm. There will be a sign-up sheet coming soon so we can get an estimate of numbers attending. This will be our only Wednesday night meal in October.

Michael Burkhardt Hymn Festival
On a different "note" there is the Michael Burkhardt "Living Voices of the Gospel" festival on Sunday, Oct 16 at 4:00 pm in the sanctuary. This is inspired by Luther's belief that music is a living voice of the Gospel, and is in light of the upcoming celebration of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. This hymn festival will highlight the hymns of Martin Luther, paired with hymns of a variety of times and places.

Yard Sale!
Start gathering items to bring to our annual yard sale! The sale takes place on Saturday, Oct 22 beginning at 7:00 am. We will accept small items at this time in the smaller room in Whitesell Hall. After the Oktoberfest, we will then receive items in Trinity Hall until the sale on Oct 22. Start fall cleaning and clear your extras before the holidays. We hope for everything to be in good working order, useable, wearable, etc. Keep in mind our "regifting" category which is for "essentially new" items that people can give as presents. Items not sold are donated to Habitat for Humanity, TROSA, or Scrap Exchange. If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact Karen Hassett! Proceeds will benefit Trinity Hall Kitchen, Camp Agape, and our Troop 12 Cub Scouts.

If you are not into Yard Sales -- you can consider gathering friends and doing the Fall Work Day at Camp Agape on Sat, Oct 22. There will be plenty of jobs for everyone! Breakfast and lunch are provided. If you want to arrange for a group from St. Paul's to go, contact Pastor Scott. If you need more information, contact Mir at AceEd@agapekurebeach.org at Camp Agape.

We cannot forget about our Pumpkin Patch!
Pumpkins are scheduled to arrive on Sunday, October 9 at 4:00 pm. Plan to attend and help with the pumpkin pass chain! We will have sign-up sheets available soon so you can pick your times to sit in our beautiful patch and help our neighbors and friends pick their finest pumpkins.

Trunk or Treat!
We'll finish out the month with the Trunk or Treat evening on Friday, October 28 beginning with a simple hot-dog supper at 6:00 pm. We invite you to come in costume, bring along some sweet or salty treats to share, decorate your trunk to hand out treats from.

We hope you get these on your calendar and make plans to attend. Invite others to join you!
